New Healing Prayer Ministry Search Engine

The new Healing Prayer Ministry Search Engine is now online. It is powered by the Google search engine but is focused on searches about healing, prayer ministry, counselling, hearing God’s voice, intimacy with God, use of spiritual gifts, and related topics.

A bonus is that if you have a website which relates to any of these areas, you can submit it for inclusion in the accompanying directory in return for a link back to the search engine site. If selected, your site will also be given higher priority in the search results. This can result in significant traffic for your site.

Seminar – Intimacy with God

Beth Tephillah Seminars for 2007.

Following on from our successful Hearing God’s Voice seminar in May, we are having a seminar on:

Intimacy with God
Saturday 14th July, 10 am to 4 pm
at
Beth Tephillah Ministry Centre,
55 Park Crescent, Williamstown (Mel 55 J7)

Jesus prayed:”Righteous Father, … I have made you known to them, and will continue to make you known in order that the love you have for me may be in them and that I myself may be in them.”

Many struggle with intimacy with God. He can be a remote figure, not the loving Father about whom Jesus speaks.

This seminar aims to help participants come closer to Father God, learning more about his heart of love. False images of God will be discussed, and his true nature explored. Learn how to live in his presence like Jesus did. Out of intimacy with him comes the possibility of intimacy with others.

Cost: $25.00. There will be practical sessions. Refreshments will be provided. BYO lunch.

The topics and dates for our 2007 seminars at Beth Tephillah Ministries have been set. This year there will be four, each on a Saturday. The first seminar for the year is:

“Hear the Word of the Lord” has been a common instruction to God’s people through the centuries. Jesus, who IS that Word, told us that sheep listen for their shepherd’s voice and follow him because they know his voice, and He expects His sheep to respond to His voice.

Speaking in Tongues and Prayer Ministry

The Spiritual gift of speaking in tongues, or glossolalia, is an important part of the believers arsenal in listening to and obeying the voice of God. It is extremely useful in healing and prayer ministry. However, a great deal of the available teaching is misleading, and sometimes deceptive. There is a strong focus on the dangers, prompting believers to live in fear rather than faith, with almost no teaching on the uses of this gift.

Prompted by a comment by Mal Austin about my old article on speaking in tongues: Tongues – making it happen, on the Healing Prayer Ministries Network website, I’ve writen the first of a series on this topic on my Speaking-in-Tongues blog. The first of these new articles is called Tongues five years on.

I will be covering many aspects of the nature, purpose and exercise of the gift, including its usefulness in spiritual discernment, hearing God’s voice, addressing demons, and ministering into the spirit of a person.

Nadia’s with Jesus

On Monday we received an email message, “Have you heard the latest news about Nadia?” This alerted us to her sudden illness and was quickly followed by news of her death. How our hearts go out to Phillip and the family, especially in the shock of their loss. Nadia had endeared herself to all who met her, with the sweet and gentle spirit and a graciousness that comes in a life committed to Jesus.

The leader of the Endeavour Centre, the first of the church prayer ministry centres and, most recently, leader of Fountain Gate Christian Centre prayer ministry centre, Nadia had regularly participated in the Prayer Ministries Network meetings from their commencement and either she or Phillip in the Healing Prayer Ministries Network meetings from 2003. We will miss her. How good to have the assurance that Jesus knows, loves and cares and one day we will be together in his presence.
